The Conversion Conundrum

I have been asked numerous times if our “real” (meaning hidden) agenda was to convert Hemant to become a Christian. I said no. That is not why we are employing him. We are employing Hemant to gather information that will help us convert Christians from being disrespectful, unkind, arronagant, and abnormal people and turn them into good listeners who are genuinely interested in hearing another persons point of view.

Of course, Hemant could “convert” as a result of something that happens to him during his time of temping with Off The Map - I could convert to become an atheist as well - any body can convert to anything they feel like - but we are not setting out with that as our goal.

We call this practice non manipulative intentionality. That is the art of intentionally connecting with and engaging with people on purpose without the need to manipulate the outcome.

We got this idea from watching Jesus in his interactions with all sorts of people and the movie The Big Kahuna.
