Someone sent us $504.00 (exactly) to cover the cost of hiring (winning:-)? Hemant’s atheistic attention.
So does this means
1) God approves of this project- (meaning this proves it since the main way many of us Christians have been taught to measure Gods approval is by cash flow- I mean why would he provide the money for this otherwise - Thus - It must be God!
2) There is no god so why do I ask?
3) The Devil got zeroed out?
4) OTM can now “waste” more money hiring other types of people?

Does it mean any/all of 1) through 4)? I have no idea - you’ll have to consult someone else on that ;) (God, perhaps, as well as this community?)
I would say it means someone is strongly supportive of this project and has chosen to show it in a neat, practically helpful way. I’m happy for you that OTM has received this encouraging sign of support and that OTM will now be able to embark on more marketing projects this year after all.

Really though, I think this means that somebody believes that at least the dialogue is important enough to support you in this way. That’s really great and if I had $504 I’d have sent it to you as well…

Maybe we should see if your secular students will “match” the $504 you gave the org in response to this

I think the equation of money with meaning and significance is a universal habit, and one that each of us, whether we are an atheist, agnostic or person of faith, has encountered countless times.
You wrote in an earlier post that dialogue is a revealing of weaknesses, and I sometimes feel that in your eagerness to “dialogue” you start making up (or at least exagerating) weaknesses. Sure, we’ve all heard stories about this televangelist, or that televangelist, but those guys are in the minority. The most influential Christians of our lifetime (people like Billy Graham, Mother Theresa, Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, Pope John Paul) could hardly be characterized as materialistic.
Okay, just had to get that off my chest. :)
Congratulations on the replenished budget!

(I think one of the average Christians’ worst witnesses is in being lousy tippers. ;-)

Please tell me it was a joke! If not, imagine a popping eyeball with an expression of “Whaaaaat????” Do you mean atheists are devil’s instruments (I’ve heard that one before, but still it astonished me), or *gasp* you actually thought that devil scored one over god !?!? Either way, that was priceless.

Don’t die of shock - Hemant could be. God has a long history of using outsiders to wake up his people. All truth is God’s truth.
What do you think Hemant?
