Way of the Master Radio, with Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort (Part 1 at the 38:00 mark) (Part 2)
This is a few months old now but I don’t think we’ve ever posted the links to it on this blog.
I was listening to a message about evangelism by Ray Comfort yesterday. (My thoughts on that are here.) That message reminded me of the above radio interview.
In the interview Ray uses the method I heard him describe yesterday. How well did it work on Hemant? ;)

1Sickening, just sickening. Nothing like hellfire and brimstoning someone into a supposed “relationship” with God. Lesson to remember: if you don’t like what an atheist has to say, simply condescend and talk over him.
Now that’s Christ-like.

2I’ve heard Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron’s schtick before .
It is a broken record and confirms my belief that Evangelical Christianity is Amway of religions.

3Was listening to WOTM show after the interview and Ray went on to say how God went “crush him to powder” on judgement day.
To me that isn`t a god worth worshipping.

4Ian - I agree
If that is the best Christianity has to offer - I’ll pass as well

5“It is a broken record and confirms my belief that Evangelical Christianity is Amway of religions. ”
Thanks for judgeing all of us based on your experience with one idiot.

6sorry but it is not one “idiot”.
I wouldn`t have such a negative view of evangelicals if it was just one. I’ve dealt with many who speak to me like I am a makework project and not a human being.

7Trying to speak ligically or with any common sense to these brainwashed moron’s is a complete waste of time. How sad for the poor xtian slobs who go around repeating this ignorance.

8Hi Alan,
We don’t like Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron’s approach either. We realize how demeaning and thoughtless it is.
I went to your website - it looks interesting.
Obviously it’s your choice how you express yourself there. Here we would appreciate it if you could share your thoughts without name-calling. Please consider that Christians may well be reading and it’s more helpful to them if you explain why you find Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron’s approach so distasteful, than if you simply call those two guys and those who emulate their approach names.
Figure that Christians might read this who might never read your blog. Maybe you can educate them!

9Thanks for your thoughts and insight into an approach of evangelism. To be Biblically sound and consitent in Biblical teaching, needs to be the foundation of evangelims for Jesus Christ. The simplicity of such can be presented in two Parts. Pt 1: The bad news that Man is seperated by sin (lying, stealing, cursing, infidelity) from a Holy (sinless) God. Pt 2: The good news that Jesus, sinless God, brings us back to God by His dying for OUR sins, being applied to all who fully in faith trust Jesus as their Savior. Is this not Biblical teaching and the message of Ray Comfort?
Thanks you for your consideration. Jesse.

10The message of Ray Comfort is that anyone who has different beliefs from him is a hellbound fool.
If God had sent Ray 2000 years ago instead of the other Guy, we certainly wouldn’t be talking about “Comfortianity” today.

11The message of Ray Comfort is not the issue. Seems to be the way out for some. The issue is what is the message of Christ in the Bible? “Evangelical Christianity” is not a religion anymore than what you have fashioned is a religion.

12This made me grin. I’m picturing giant ogre god at the top of the beanstalk. I’m mean we’re already getting crushed to powder right here on li’l old planet earth, so … whatever.

13That’s exactly your problem - you “picture” a god, so … whatever.

14I had never listened to Ray Comfort or Kirk Cameron before. It doesn’t seem very effective. I could almost feel Hemant tuning them out and just waiting for them to stop talking … just being polite … so he could say something.
It wouldn’t work on me … and I’m a believer! I liked Siamang’s comment above:
