    Hi, Jim, Hemant, & Helen,
I’ve just finished listening to (only) the second half of the interview. Both Jim and Hemant did a wonderful job! (I almost forgot about Hemant’s voice, nice to hear your voice again. And Jim’s too :-) )
I didn’t know until I clicked to the radio site that it is a radio station in Winnipeg, Manitoba! I was there from 1982 to 1985 studying in University of Manitoba!! What was even funnier is that right after your interview is a live program of the Franklin Graham evangelical convention thing. I had just received an e-mail from one of the Winnipeg’s Church’s friends asking us to pray for this big event!
I had missed the 1st half but from what I’ve listened, I have a feeling that the host was feeling a little uneasy with Jim’s perspective. What do you think?
But I really liked the conclusion part where both Hemant and Jim stressed that a friendly dialogue is what connects people and breaks away all the offensive and defensive walls! And Jim’s theme of God likes people came out nice and strong! Good work!

Hi Esther, I didn’t get the sense the host was uneasy with Jim’s perspective.

A couple of times he did cut Jim off but I think it was because of time, not because he was uneasy. That was my impression anyway.

The problem with telephone interviews is, you can’t visually cue the other person if you want to move to a break or give the other person another turn. So I don’t suppose there is any other way, at times, than interrupting them. Unfortunately.

Anyway I listened and I thought it went well. Jim and Hemant are very respectful of each other - I love to hear that.

I expect the program will be up as a podcast soon for those who missed it and want to listen. I’ll post a link to that when it goes up.

Esther — Thanks for the kind words. It’s a hard balance trying to explain what it is you’re doing in a short amount of time, so if you get an opening, you take that chance to say it. At the same time, it’s hard to have a real conversation, so I know the hosts were trying to have a back/forth conversation which didn’t pan out too much. We couldn’t get to the callers either. But overall, I think it went well.
