This booklet (current version) was written by Pastor Tim Harlow for parents to give to their childrens’ teachers. Here’s an excerpt from the introduction:
as a teacher, you are bound to teach evolution. That is not your fault: it is simply the reality and I do understand that fact. I just want to try to keep you open to the idea that my child, and probably most children in your classroom, do not believe that “theory.” I am asking you to teach (or continue to teach) evolution as just that - a “theory,” and keep your classroom open to other theories of the origin of the world.

Because tomorrow is Thanksgiving, Helen has graciously allowed me to post a day early.
THANK YOU to my wife for loving me no matter what. I know I’m a jerk when I get tired or when I get an idea in my head of how things should be. But I am so proud of you! And I know I would not be half the man I am today if it weren’t for you.
THANK YOU to my son for putting up with me, and even though I’m such a fart sometimes, we’re still buds and you still love me. And now that you’re getting ready for college I am grateful that you are ready to go. I know I kid about that, but I’m grateful that you’re ready, not that you’re going. Your leaving makes me sad. I should have posted this a few weeks ago…
I’m delighted to have Siamang now posting some of the blog entries on here. When I started reading this blog in February, one of the first things that caught my attention and impressed me a lot was the respectful interaction between Siamang and Jim in the comments section. Siamang is one of the people who has helped make friendly dialog between Christians and atheists a reality here.
