Coffee with the ‘eBay atheist’

I’ve wanted to meet Hemant in person ever since I got to know him a little online through reading his church reviews here early this year.

Last week we were able to meet for coffee. It was a fun time. Hemant is very friendly, just like his blog title, ‘FriendlyAtheist‘ indicates! I enjoyed hearing about his life. It hadn’t registered with me how involved Hemant is with SSA - I forgot he is chair of the board.

Hemant seemed very happy with how his life is going - he clearly has been enjoying the unexpected opportunities the ebay atheist auction has led to.

I wanted to meet with him just for fun - not to collect ‘blog fodder’. So I’m not going to blog our conversation. If you have questions for Hemant go ahead and post them in the comments here. I’ll invite him to drop by and answer any questions he’s happy to answer publically.

    Would he be willing to speak at a church again? I’ve got two ideas for how it could work … either for a morning service like he did for Parkview, or else in an informal gathering that we would advertise to the community.

    And if he would, is there a preferred format? Fees, etc? I’m in Minneapolis.

    Mike– To answer your questions, yes I’d be willing to speak to a church again. I think it was definitely a worthwhile experience the last time :) I’d love to do it again. (I’ll email you about the specifics.)
