We evolved into this??

If this is after how many billion years of evolution, it’s hard to imagine how the process ever got started.

Then again, this isn’t exactly a stunning case for intelligent design, either.

I have two cartoon bubbles going right now … In one, I see the very first living organism slipping on an inflatable slide and wiping out her young, and hence, life as we know it. In the other I see God slumped in a chair, going through his old papers, just shaking his head and wondering what happened …

Either way, I think it’s safe to say something has gone terribly wrong.

    Is it really necessary for you to show off other people’s embarrassing moments to try to prove your point, which actually, it proves nothing at all…. except that showing off other people’s embarrassing moments is what bullies do to elevate themselves.

    Connie, I don’t think anyone intended to be mean.

    We all have embarrassing moments and I think it’s good be able to laugh at ourselves.

    I meant nothing by it. The nature of this blog is that it is a place where people of opposing viewpoints can mix. Whether we agree or not makes no difference, we can gather here as friends and be real.

    What other place do you know where atheists and Christians can talk openly without the defensive posturing? Still, sometimes things get deep (at least I know I do), and I need to balance my posts with levity. Without the counterbalance of laughter which naturally brings people together, all this group (atheists and christians) would have left to talk about would be our differences.

    And what fun would that be?

    I think that it’s just that a lot of people come on here with the mind-set to be really really serious. THe Word tells us, too, though, Laughter is good!
    I think it’s funny, because you’re totally right, Mike O. Of course, for me, I don’t at all believe God is sitting back sighing, I think it’s just our own choices that have turned us into what we are today. God won’t force us to do the right stuff.
    So…we evolved into this? Wow…I wonder what comes next….

    Nor do I, I think God lets us embarrass ourselves for the simple reason that we’ll be able to laugh about it later. (Or at least our friends will.)
