Beautifully done. I especially enjoyed the fact that I didnt realize until the very end that the person doing the review was an atheist and Siamang at that- nice job and how fun to be in London
BTW- I am a HUGE fan of William Harrison and although I fancy myself to be somewhat spiritual I would have to agree with your analysis of the comparison betwen the two experiences
Thanks! I felt like saying, “Hey, Helen, these are no ordinary clocks! H4 is probably the most important timepiece in history!”
But H1 is pure poetry in motion.
I’m interested and glad that between Mike O and me we’ve got church ratings of a Minster and a Cathedral in England. Ye Olde Megachurches! I like how we’re able to broaden our experiences of spiritual worship to take in more varied forms.
Siamang my apologies if I failed to emphasize the importance of the clocks :-)
We were in Greenwich Park a few years ago but it was in the evening and the Observatory was closed.
OH I do have a hilarious story about it. We’re at the Greenwich Meridian and an overseas tourist (American as I recall) compares a portable GPS device she has with the Greenwich meridian line. They don’t quite match so she says “Oh, the line is off a bit”. Yeah right.
I think Ye Old Megachurches are beautiful - I’d much rather spend time in one of those than the new ones; at least there’s something to look at! (Ok, so when I went to Willow Creek about 20 years ago there was a huge window through which you could watch the ducks on the pond - that was neat)
Siamang, I think you were brave to go into a cathedral and try to sit thru a service with a 3 year old :) I also think it was pretty cool that the homily was about creativity. And waayy too ironic that an atheist goes to church on vacation :)

5Hehe…
Well, just to prove I’m not afraid of it!
But really the entire time I’m thinking “Oh, this’ll just blow their minds as a really cool Church Rater entry!”
